Our Journey

On the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya, five devoted families came together with one simple yet powerful sankalp: to unite the devotees of Shri Gajanan Maharaj in Houston as one parivar, guided by His divine grace.

What began as a humble initiative has since blossomed into a vibrant spiritual community of over 200 families—bound by love, seva, and unwavering devotion.

Since celebrating our first Prakat Din in Houston in February 2019, the Sevekaris have continued to nurture this sacred bond through social and religious gatherings. Our Monthly Naam Jap, held twice a month—once at the temple and once in devotees’ homes—has become the heartbeat of our community. Together we celebrate festivals, reflect on Maharaj’s teachings, and experience the joy of satsang as one united family.

Even during the pandemic, when we could not gather in person, we kept the flame of devotion alive by carrying Maharaj’s Palkhi across Houston—so devotees could seek blessings safely from their homes.

Today, our journey continues with even greater hope: over the last three years, our next generation has taken full leadership of Prakat Din celebrations—an inspiring sign that Maharaj’s legacy is not only being preserved, but is truly flourishing for the years to come.

Our Sankalp

With Maharaj’s krupa and your support, we now take our next sacred step: building a stand-alone Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Houston. This will be a permanent spiritual home—where devotees can gather for pooja, Naam Jaap, satsang, aarti, and festivals in a space devoted wholly to Maharaj.

Our vision is not only a temple structure, but a living center of teachings, values, and seva—a place that strengthens our community today and inspires our children and future generations to walk the path of bhakti and righteousness.
